There’s nothing quite like the sweet, caramelized magic of sticky buns fresh from the oven. Soft, fluffy rolls swirled with cinnamon sugar and drenched in a buttery pecan glaze—this is breakfast at its most decadent.

Irresistibly Gooey Sticky Buns

🍴 Ingredients (Serves 12)

For the Dough:

  • 1 cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 4 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt

For the Filling:

  • ⅔ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

For the Topping:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

🔥 Instructions

Activate the Yeast:
In a large bowl, combine warm milk and sugar, then sprinkle yeast on top. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

Make the Dough:
Add eggs and melted butter to the yeast mixture. Mix in flour and salt until a dough forms. Knead for 8–10 minutes, then cover and let rise in a warm place for 1–2 hours, until doubled in size.

Prepare the Topping:
In a saucepan, melt butter with brown sugar, honey, and cream. Stir until smooth. Pour into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and sprinkle with chopped pecans.

Roll and Fill:
Roll the dough into a 12×18-inch rectangle. Spread softened butter, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll tightly into a log and slice into 12 equal pieces.

Assemble and Rise:
Place the rolls cut-side down over the topping in the baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 30–45 minutes.

Bake and Invert:
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 30–35 minutes until golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes, then invert onto a platter to reveal the gooey topping.

💡 Helpful Tip: For extra gooeyness, don’t be shy with the topping—and don’t let the buns cool too long in the pan or the glaze may stick. Flip them while still warm and let the caramel cascade over each one!
