Meat and Cheese Stromboli

🍴 Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated pizza dough
  • ¼ lb sliced genoa salami
  • ¼ lb sliced ham
  • ¼ lb sliced soppressata
  • ¼ lb sliced mortadella
  • ¼ lb sliced hot capicola
  • ¼ lb sliced pepperoni
  • 1 fried green bell pepper (strips)
  • ¼ lb Italian fried ground sweet sausage
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded provolone or Italian blend cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional: marinara sauce for dipping

🔥 Instructions

Preheat and Prep:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

Roll Out the Dough:
Unroll the pizza dough onto a lightly floured surface. Stretch it into a large rectangle, about 10×14 inches.

Layer the Fillings:
Arrange the salami, ham, soppressata, mortadella, capicola, and pepperoni evenly across the center of the dough, leaving a 1-inch border. Sprinkle sausage, peppers, shredded mozzarella and provolone on top of the meat. Finish with a dusting of Italian seasoning.

Roll It Up:
Starting from one long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log, tucking the ends underneath to seal. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

Brush and Bake:
Brush the top with beaten egg for a glossy finish. Use a sharp knife to make 3–4 small slits across the top for ventilation. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.

Cool and Slice:
Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing into thick pieces. Serve with warm marinara sauce on the side.

💡 Helpful Tip: For a crispier crust, sprinkle a bit of cornmeal on the parchment before placing your Stromboli on the pan. Want to customize? Try adding sautéed peppers, olives, or a swipe of mustard inside before baking!
