Banana Muffins

🍴 Ingredients (Makes 12 Muffins)

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 3 large ripe bananas, mashed
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: ½ cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips

Preheat and Prep:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease each cup.

Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Combine the Wet Ingredients:
In a large mixing bowl, mash the bananas. Add the sugar, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.

Bring It All Together:
Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and stir just until combined. Don’t overmix—this keeps the muffins light and fluffy. Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if using.

Bake to Perfection:
Divide the batter evenly into the prepared muffin cups, filling each about ¾ full. Bake for 18–22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool and Enjoy:
Let the muffins cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
