Skillet-Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Maple Syrup and Smoked Almonds

  • 1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • ⅓ cup smoked almonds, chopped
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar (optional)
