🛒 Ingredients (Servings: Makes about 1½ cups)

  • 2 lbs Vidalia or yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves (or 1 tsp dried)
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • ¼ cup balsamic vinegar or dry white wine (optional)

🍳 Instructions:

1️⃣ Prep the Onions:
🧅 Peel and thinly slice the onions. Try to keep slices uniform for even cooking.

2️⃣ Sauté Low and Slow:
🔥 In a large skillet, melt the butter and olive oil over low heat. Add sliced onions, salt, pepper, and thyme. Stir to coat well.

5️⃣ Cool and Store:
❄️ Allow to cool slightly. Transfer to a jar. Refrigerate for up to 1 week or freeze for longer storage.
