Ultimate Muffuletta Sandwich (Big, Bold & Packed with Flavor!)
Originating from New Orleans, the Muffuletta is a flavor-packed Italian-American sandwich stacked high with layers of cured meats, cheeses, and a tangy olive salad. Itβs perfect for parties, picnics, or anytime you crave a hearty, satisfying bite.

π§ Ingredients
- 1 large round Italian loaf (or muffuletta bread)
- 1 cup olive salad (store-bought or homemade)
- 4 oz Genoa salami
- 4 oz mortadella
- 4 oz capicola or ham
- 4 oz provolone cheese
- 4 oz mozzarella cheese
- Olive oil, for brushing
π©βπ³ Instructions
Prepare the Bread:
Slice the round loaf in half horizontally. Scoop out some of the soft interior if it’s too thick. Lightly brush both cut sides with olive oil.
Add the Olive Salad:
Spread half of the olive salad evenly over the bottom half of the bread. Press it in slightly so it soaks into the bread.
Layer the Meats and Cheese:
Layer on the salami, mortadella, capicola, provolone, and mozzarella, stacking each one generously. Top with the remaining olive salad.
Finish & Press:
Place the top half of the bread over the filling. Wrap the entire sandwich tightly in plastic wrap and press it under a heavy skillet or pan. Let it sit for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Slice & Serve:
Cut the sandwich into wedges and serve at room temperature. Itβs even better the next day!
